The Hunter - SYMBOLIC DESIGN ELEMENTS
I designed a special image for the center combining a stag head along with antlers, oak leaf, acorn and Celtic knot based on the shape of an arrowhead and heart. This image is superimposed over acorn. The design represents the hunter, fatherhood, eternal love for family and strength. Celtic eternity knot symbolizes the path of Fatherhood; the knot is associated with the root system of an oak tree.
In upper part of painting a forest of stylized trees with deer and howling wolves are seen behind the trees. Wolves symbolize strength, courage, freedom, wisdom, guardianship, ritual, loyalty and spirit. Deer represent instinctual energy, independence and regeneration, which stems from their antlers being shed and re-grown each year. A deer is a very gentle animal. Among the many wild creatures of the forest, the deer is a breath of kindness, a sigh of relief, an emotional refuge. This does not mean that deer are absolutely defenseless as this peaceful creature has very keen survival instincts.
This piece was created in archival and acrylic inks, both waterproof.
LifeExpressions commissions are painted on an 8"x8" (unless another size is determined, but they are always square) cradled substrate that is archival and acid-free. The finished painting is protected with several coats of satin (low-sheen) acrylic polymer varnish which is resistant to chemicals, water, abrasion and ultraviolet radiation. I also paint the sides of the cradled panel with an acrylic color that compliments the painting. Cradled panels allow you to hang your work with no additional framing. I also include a hanging hook and nail for your convenience.
