Tulip Serenade
The original illustration, Tulip Serenade, was created in pen&ink and watercolor (the above image), but the limited edition prints were reproduced in black&white. Although you cannot see it clearly in the above image, the ink strokes and stippling (tiny dots) are very detailed in each print. The colors in the above image are lighter than will be in the hand-colored versions. Since I will be hand-coloring each one, the colors will be darker and more vibrant.
If you want to purchase a hand-colored tulip print, you may choose from the following palettes: all pink tulips, all red, all purple/violet, a mix of pink/red, a mix of yellow/red, or a mix of blue-violet/purple/dark pink tulips. I found that these color palettes work best for the hand-colored versions. The leaves and stems are done in varying shades of green.
Your hand-colored limited edition print will look different from the original as each print is a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art after it has been hand-colored. The background of the print is pure white. The hand-colored version is more expensive than the black&white version because of the hand-coloring process. The image is printed on museum (acid free) quality paper.
Each hand-colored print takes approximately 10-12 hours to color as a layering process technique of 3 to 4 layers of colored pencil are used on each tulip and leaf. This print is an original piece of art because of this. The palette colors will appear deeper than the online image, making the colors look brighter and more saturated.
The price for a hand-colored, signed, titled, and numbered limited edition is $365. Since this is a custom order, no refunds are allowed. The hand-colored print must be paid in full before I can start the hand-coloring process. The price includes the cost of the print, which is $75.
The time frame to ship a hand-colored print is approximately 4 weeks (less time if you order a black&white print or if you purchase through PayPal) depending on my work load. I will start your custom-ordered print as soon as your check clears through your bank. If you need the print for a special occasion, please make sure you allow plenty of time for completion and shipping.

2. I will confirm your order by replying to your e-mail and to make sure that you have sent your check to me as I cannot start to hand-color your print until the check has cleared your bank which takes about 7-10 days (usually less than ten).
3. I will e-mail you half-way through the coloring process to let you know approximately how much longer it will be before completion.
4. When completion is final, I will e-mail you when your print has been shipped out. Prints will be rolled and mailed in a sturdy art mailing tube.
