Calalily Giclee Prints

Etherial Art Nouveau Calalily giclee prints by Dee Van Houten. The Art Nouveau style is characterized by the use of sinuous graceful curving lines, interlaced patterns, women, flowers, plants, and other motifs inspired by nature. This gouache (opaque watercolor) painting will be available as giclee prints from my online gallery Dee Van Houten Fine Art.

This Calalily painting was created to be hung with the Art Nouveau Lily painting. (It also looks beautiful just on its own). All four Art Nouveau paintings also look great together as a group hanging.

The jewel-like colors and lovely details in the translucent skin of the woman in this Art Nouveau Calalily giclee print appears soft and delicate. She has a mesmerizing look in her crystal blue/green eyes and you wonder what she is thinking. It is not a look of sadness, but as though she is thinking of someone from another time or place.

Her head is completely wrapped in a deep teal colored turban with calalilies tied to one side of it. The shoulder wrap she is wearing bares her soft, creamy shoulders. Her lips are full and pouty as she holds a bouquet of calalilies, which have a very delicate, almost vulnerable look to them.

In the two upper corners you will see calalilies gently painted within the space behind the peach colored, arched shaped background. On each side and at the bottom of the painting are hand-painted borders of tiny, delicate calaliles.
